Well, My VERY EXPENSIVE and somewhat useless sit stand desk now resembles the leaning tower of Pisa. This is the SECOND time its died in less than 4 years. I cannot recommend ANYTHING electronic from steelcase. Their chairs work great, but the sit stand desk (and galatial response times for reparing them) and constant need for warranty work have me done with them. I have simply ordered a 'cheap' one from ikea, since the spendy ones seem to be utter 💩.
Also went to fosdem 2025. I went actually there in 2024, but it was miserable. The chairs are designed for pixies, the weather is terrible, and belgium is a toilet (especially Brussels!). Doing things virtually really was nice. I was in nice 22C room with proper chair that didn't hurt, with a 65 inch screen and could compile things AS THEY told me about them. I also didn't have to spend 2k to deal with horrible accommodations in europe. I like europe, just not Brussels. The suffering was a GREAT lesson on why I don't go to conferences anymore.
