Blog For the New Year, nice pan cool system dee things

This is my first blog entry for the year. Mostly some nice systemd things I learned:

journalctl --system -b -1

And I also got a nice pan (a griddle which is cast iron, polished, and light) by the field company. So far I like it, its a nine inch pan, and seems to season nicely. I did some onions on it.

I also bought myself a new reciever, by denon. Its the bomb! very nice, and it has a tendency to sound TOO nice. VERY nice setup and atmos rulez!

Not sure if this helps too much, but if you have an amd graphics card and linux isn't waking, this might help. The bug prevents sleep if the memory is too filled.

Also if you are looking for a new photography program for linux to try out, openshot seems nice (not as powerful as darktable, however).

I also came up with a nice recipe for hash browns (I did it by accident). Simple as Pi: Just par-boil the potatoe (preferably something like yukon golds) in the microwave for 3 mins for a large one, or 6 mins for two medium), and then grate. I don't even peel. Add salt and pepper to the mix, and optionally garlic, onion powder, and pepper. Gently mix, and then crisp up on each side on a reasonably well-greased grill, POOF happy hashbrowns.

Overall had a GREAT vacation in Florida. I got to eat FRESH OFF THE TREE starfruit. I LOVE starfruit!
